What I’ve been doing…. since I obviously haven’t been doing this.

Ok, first of all, because I need to get this out there – Game of Thrones????!!!!! WHAT?!?!

Besides Carter having a near hysterical/rage-filled breakdown during the Red Wedding at the Twins in last night’s episode, here was the other gem from our viewing session:

CARTER: WHAT?!?!?! That guy just sacked a city for Danaerys! He got her a f*cking city! They’re totally going to do it!

ME: Well, duh. I’m not sure how it works in Westeros, but in America, if a guy or gal takes you to the theater and a nice dinner, you’re kind of supposed to make out with them, I think. Maybe. But I think that if you carry the 5 and do the translation, in Westeros, if a guy gives you an entire kingdom, you probably most definitely have to put out. Just saying.

CARTER: That makes sense.

ME: Oddly enough, I’ve given this a lot of thought. But I think that she’d bone him anyways because he reminds her of Khal Drogo.

CARTER: Mmmhmm. Mmhmm. Yes. Of course.

Admit it. You’ve missed this.

I have been gone forever, it feels like! You know when Carter asks when when I’m gonna start blogging again… well, it’s time. But May was a whirlwind of a month, my friends! Allow me to elaborate for you in today’s feature – May: A Photojournal.

First, Carter graduated from his Master’s Degree program! Our boy’s all growns up! And I couldn’t be any more proud of him! Here he is with his parents and brothers, with me, and with his brothers again. Oh, shenanigans.

Then we moved. Blah, blah, blah. But then we got to fly to Denver for the wedding of one of my oldest and dearest friends! Congratulations, Caitlin and Nick!

Caitlin did this adorable thing were, instead of using table numbers, each table had an assigned animal (the wedding was on a farm after all!). Carter and I were fortunate enough to be assigned to The Pig Table or, as we chose to call it, The Table. Wonderful people with whom to share such a beautiful wedding. And even more shenanigans involving upside down legs, boot swapping, wine spilling, and a photo booth. I’m also dreading seeing any professional or amateur photos that may have been taken of me during Macklemore’s Thrift Shop. It was not pretty, my friends. I may or may not have been throwing up what I think look like imaginary gang signs  and biting my lip a lot. A LOT. Oh my.

After that beautiful wedding, we came back home and tried to unpack  but to no avail! Some of my favorite people in the world were in town! Amy (from ADDled) and I spent a crazy amount of time down at Residency to watch our favorites do their graduate readings and then graduate period!

But before this crop of new writers graduated, I got to meet Tim O’Brien! (Yes, THAT Tim O’Brien. Author of The Things They Carried Tim O’Brien. And, yes – fangirl squee!) Amy teased me that my meeting Tim O’Brien would be like a lot of people meeting Steven Tyler or Mick Jagger and told Carter that she would, at any cost, prevent me from throwing my underwear at him. I met him and am happy to report that no underwear was thrown. He was perfectly delightful and such a gentleman and it was such an immense honor to hear him speak. He even was gracious enough to sign several books for members of the veterans group for which I serve as historian. What a guy! Here’s Amy getting her book signed!

And here’s me!

Congratulations, dear friends!

But wait! There’s more! We went to the horse track with more good friends!

And THEN we started housesitting for these precious babies!

And then I met Sweet Tico! Remember him? He guilted/guiled you into voting? I finally met his sweet, fuzzy self!

We sent my cousin off to Marine Corps Basic Training! So proud of you, Sarah!

And somewhere along the line, this happened:

As did this:

But if you take nothing away from this post, take this:

I am guest-blogging today over at The Silent Isle! Please check it out and follow Anna’s blog on Bloglovin’! It’s wonderful, as is she! Thanks for the opportunity to share on your wonderful blog!

So there you have it! Graduations, weddings, housesitting, Lola sitting on people, mania! Stay tuned tomorrow for an AMAZING post by the woman who married Carter and me. Married as in officiated, not as in Sister Wives. It’s fine, though. I’d totally marry her. And you’ll want to, too. Promise.

Then stay tuned to stay tuned for Wednesday, when I will write a legitimate post about something bizarre and wonderful. Promise.

Missed y’all! xoxo
