I’ve clearly lost it.

So I got this text today…

Carter:  lola wants to go on maury

Carter:  lola is sad because she doesn’t know who her father is either!

It would seem that my dog wishes that her life was more interesting. And by interesting, I mean, “I don’t know who my father is because I was born at a breeder’s and there were 7 sire poodles and that’s just too many dogs to ‘Mama Mia.’”

Carter:  in other news, lola is upset because she suspects whale of cheating on her with her friend rigby

me:  That two-timing whale

Carter:  haha i know

me:  Don’t ever come between two best girl friends, whale. You’ll lose every time.

Picture it:

Today on Maury, Lola, a beautiful but confused Labradoodle, has been acting out because she never met her father. She finds love in the tortured artist, Whale, but has the undeniable suspicion that he’s being unfaithful. With whom? Her sister-dog and best friend, Rigby. Stay tuned to see how it pans out.

Sorry. Had to. Had to.

(Note: If I had any animation skills whatsoever, which, of course, I don’t, I would give you a clip of Lola running into Rigby repeatedly with Whale in her mouth, which is about as close to chair-throwing as she’s capable of without opposable thumbs.)

I don’t know… the lady does look a bit like a tramp.

Rigby looks distressed. Whale looks thoroughly nonplussed. In the distance, the sound of the treat can shaking echos. All run into the off the set for belly rubs and liver treats, leaving Maury with an empty stage and a confused audience. Whale is left alone and Rigby and Lola scamper off to have a snuggle-nap. Because that’s what best friends/sister-dogs do.

So, my girls like Maury. At least they’re not schtupping the Brussels Griffon next door. That would be a reason to call the doctor. …or maybe the fact that I’m writing about this at all is a reason to call the doctor.

At least it’s not meth, right?
